[Pharmacological Effect]
Quinylestradiol (ethinylestradiol cyclopentyl ether) is a long-acting estrogen, which is absorbed through gastrointestinal tract after oral administration, stored in adipose tissue, and slowly releases ethinylestradiol. It inhibits ovarian ovulation by inhibiting the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary axis, so as to achieve long-acting contraceptive effect. When progesterone is compatible with it, it not only has synergistic effect on inhibiting ovulation, but also makes the endometrium transform, presenting secretion phenomenon, leading to withdrawal bleeding and forming periodic changes. When the medicine is taken once a month, the contraceptive rate can reach over 98%.
