[Composition]

The main ingredient of this product is moxifloxacin hydrochloride.

Chemical name: 1-cyclopropyl-6-fluoro-1, 4-dihydro-8-methoxy-7-[(4aS, 7aS)-octahydro-6H-pyrrolo [3, 4-b] pyridin-6-yl]-4-oxo-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid hydrochloride

Excipients: sodium chloride, boric acid, sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid, water for injections.

[Description]

A clear, pale yellowish-green liquid.

[Indications]

For the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis caused by the following susceptible organisms:

Gram +:

Corynebacterium sp.*

Micrococcus luteus*

Staphylococcus aureus

S.epidermidis

Staphylococcus haemolyticus

Staphylococcus hominis

Staphylococcus warneri*

Streptococcus pneumoniae

Streptococcus viridans

[Posology and Method of Administration]

Instill 1 drop in the affected eye (s) 3 times daily for 7 consecutive days.

[Pharmacological Effect]

Moxifloxacin is an 8-methoxyfluoroquinolone antibacterial agent with broad spectrum of activity and bactericidal action. Moxifloxacin has shown broad-spectrum of antibacterial activity in vitro against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, anaerobic, acid-resistant and atypicalmicroorganisms such as mycoplasma, chlamydia and legionella.

Moxifloxacin inhibits topoisomerases II (DNA gyrase) and IV. Topoisomerases are key enzymes that control DNA topology and are involved in DNA replication, repair and transcription.

Moxifloxacin presents with concentration-dependent bactericidal activity. The minimum bactericidal concentration and minimum inhibitory concentration were basically the same.
